THE VEIL IS THINNING

Around this time of year, legend has it that the veil between the earthly plane and the spiritual world is thin, meaning the two realms collide, and it is easier for spirits to cross over and walk among the living, and vice versa — souls ready to move on are prepped for an exit.

This ethereal curtain is believed to thin just as the days begin to get shorter and the nights stretch longer, perfectly timed with the season.

Many cultures observe this transition with cultural celebrations and holidays to mark the beginning of winter.

Lore has it that it is easier to commune with spirits around this time, such as those of deceased loved ones. The Mexican celebration of Día de los Muertos — observed on Nov. 1 and 2 — is a prime example, designed to honor and recognize the souls of those passed on, believed to visit their earthly families on these dates. Celebrants decorate elaborate home altars with flowers, candles and their loved ones’ favorite foods — including pan de muerto, or “bread of the dead.” Festivities often extend into cemeteries, where families visit gravesites of beloved family members, often delivering picnics and playing festive music. Gaelic festival called Samhain, or “festival of the dead,” also coincides with this time, marking the end of the harvest season and ushering in the darker half of the year. Celebrated from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1, halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice, the pagan religious festival originated from ancient Celtic spiritual practice.

Many in the U.S. observe Halloween on Oct. 31, which grew out of Samhain, when people would wear costumes and keep bonfires lit to ward off spirits and ghosts. Back in the eighth century, Nov. 1 was named All Saint’s Day and set aside to honor saints by Pope Gregory III. The evening before it was once known as Allhallows Eve, and ultimately — Halloween.

The festive gatherings, trick-or-treating and jack-o’-lanterns associated with the holiday in modern times are all outgrowths of these historic traditions. Many local events recognize Halloween🎃

MADAME LEOTA INSIDE THE HAUNTED MANSION AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM

MADAME LEOTA  the disembodied medium who's head floats inside a crystal ball in the Séance room at the Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom was modeled after Disney Imagineer Leota Toombs.( how great is that name).

Musical instruments and furniture levitate and make noises in response to Madame Leotas incantations.

Sadly she passed away in December 1991.
In 2002 a tombstone for Madame Leota debuted at the Disney World Mansion.
The epitaph reads
Dear sweet Leota, beloved
by all. In regions beyond now, but having a ball.
Her famous incantation goes like this.

With only a small amount foresight here are the precautions you can take to prevent colossal screw-ups in your life during the next Mercury retrograde:

 If at all possible, avoid signing legal documents.
 If at all possible, finish projects which involve communication before the retrograde.
 If at all possible, avoid closing big deals during the retrograde
 If at all possible, avoid launching new projects during the retrograde
 If at all possible, avoid scheduling meetings to make a big decision
 Allow extra time when traveling
 Backup your hard drive before the retrograde
 If at all possible, avoid installing new computer software during the retrograde
 Do needed repairs on machinery before the retrograde
 Or like some folks they just hide under the covers Good luck everyone

MONSTER MOON ON SEPT 29 2012

Have you heard about the Monster Moon? It’s supposed to reek havoc on each and every astrological sign, coming to a head on September 29th. 

The monster moon on September 29th will affect cardinal signs the most (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn)

If you don’t already know, this month is due to close with a very volatile full moon in Aries this Saturday. The relative position of other planets in the sky will combine with this moon to create what will feel like an astrological lightning storm for all of us from now until around the 4th of October.
 

 There is quite a buzz online about this moon. Some astrologers are literally warning people to hide out until the storm is over. This isn’t necessarily bad advice as it is true that there will be real potential for high drama in the heat of the moment. However there won’t be anything you can’t deal with.

I have Blessed my house with Holy Water, I have Charmed all the doors and windows, and used my broom to sweep all the negativity out of my house. (Better safe than sorry right?).  I have told family members to be aware. especially my husband (Capricorn) and our son (Libra) Now all we can do is wait to see the changes this moon will bring.  Good luck to everyone
